Dr Anothy Brzezicki receives his Lifetime Achievement Award

Lifetime Achievement Award 2026 – Dr Anothy Brzezicki

Dr Mike Mendall nominated Dr Anothy Brzezicki for the 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award, which is presented annually by Croydon Medical Society. The criteria used is as follows:

  • Must be a medically qualified doctor over the age of 55 years and not deceased at the time of nomination.
  • Doctors who are practising, or have practised medicine in Croydon, whether a Member of the Croydon Medical Society or not.
  • To have significantly contributed, on a sustained basis, to the development of health and health services for Croydon patients.
  • The contribution may consist of innovation, invention, discovery, or implementation of policy.

He was a partner at The Queenhill Medical Practice for 32 years. His passion was improving outcomes and experiences for patients. A new approach to prescribing led him to be Chair of the National Prescribing Collaborative for England. As a result, he was in demand and set up A. Brzezicki Consultancy Ltd. He lectured to GPs, Pharmaceutical Companies, and others all over the UK and Europe, writing many articles for the GP press.

After working 10 years in The Mayday Breast Unit, his cancer interest grew, culminating in being Chair of the London Cancer Board for 20 years and the Clinical Lead in The Healthy London Partnership, for the ‘Transformation of Cancer’.

He was awarded the FRCOG for leadership in many roles, including being the Chair of Croydon Commissioning Group.
